Just letting you all know we're still alive over here. I haven't had much to post lately and I suppose I've gotten a tad lazy with this club (I am in the process of moving and its, quite frankly, a bitch. So, I've been busy). Anyway, happy holidays.

It wasn't that long ago that we had only a handful of little avatars to show in the club's "friends" list at the bottom of every journal entry. (Ok, actually, it was a long time ago, but saying "it was a long time ago that..." just doesn't have the same ring to it.) We passed DA's official avatar-links-per-post limit (64) and were never scolded for it, but loading a page full of little dancing, jumping blinking icons can take quite a while. So, the avatar links become history as of this journal entry. You can always look at past journal entries if you're feeling nostalgic.

All hail the new Queen!

The admin for ~tucsonART has graciously accepted (shared) responsibility for this club. That's fantastic news, as I think she's done a great job with that group, and I'm sure she'll bring some much-needed life back into this one.

I'd love to see many of the old deviations return to the club's gallery. I'm not sure what the reasoning was for removing them last year, but we can agree that that shouldn't happen again.

Generally speaking, deviations with an identifiable Tucson element are what I'd like to see here, although that doesn't mean other deviations are not welcome. If the art itself doesn't have a Tucson element, then the artist should be either a past or present Tucsonan.

Those are my thoughts, anyway. Ultimately, the direction things go in is up to you.

Hi folks,

It's me... the guy who started this little club a few years ago. I haven't been on DA for quite a while, and was a bit sad that the club had died off. There's an obvious interest in having a Tucson club, but it needs at least one, preferably more, dedicated person to keep things running.

At least a couple of people have tried starting alternate clubs, ~TucsonClub and ~tucsonART, and there may be others. I think that's great, although I think it's a shame to have the momentum that started in this club go totally to waste. Hopefully the people running the other clubs will have an interest in combining resources so there can be just one club again. It doesn't have to be this one, but I do think this one has the club name advantage.

I can't be the person to keep the club running - believe me, if it's left in my hands, it'll just die from neglect again - but I'd love to hear suggestions, particularly any on how best to combine the existing clubs into one Super Mega Powerful Undefeatable Club. Or something along those lines...
